Göcek Town & Marinas

Known throughout the region for yacht tourism; Gocek's six marinas, beautiful bay, and spectacular scenery make it a popular choice with yachtsmen and visitors alike. Gocek, known as "Kalimche" in the past is located between Dalaman and Fethiye, just 20 minutes' drive from the international airport at Dalaman. Gocek sits in a large bay, in which islands and coves create a very beautiful environment in which to spend time, on and off the water. It was declared an area of special protection in 1988. As a result, no multi-story buildings are allowed which contributes to the upmarket feel of the resort. The town is very well served with restaurants, cafes boutiques and supermarkets, many of which line the water's edge in the marinas around the bay.

The various coves and 12 Islands that surround Gocek provide a tantalising look at an unspoilt Mediterranean with crystal clear water, beautiful beaches and pine forests. There are many ways to enjoy the islands, with organised trips from many operators in Gocek marina. The area offers opportunities to visit historical sites within 60 minutes' drive, such as the Fethiye Museum, Pınara, Tlos Letoon, Xanthos, Telmessos and Patara. Scenically beautiful, great facilities and some wonderful places to explore and discover right on your doorstep, Gocek is a classy destination - particularly appealing for those looking for a base to enjoy part of their holiday afloat.

Sailing

The gulf of Fethiye is paradise for yachtsmen, who are spoilt for choice in terms of the number of sheltered anchorages, islands, protected coves to spend a tranquil night at anchor, and the crystal clear aquamarine water. Gocek is largely unspoilt, and its dramatic mountains and pine covered slopes are a wonderful setting for sailing holiday. Fjord like anchorages such as Ruin Bay, Fathom Bay, Tomb Bay and Wall bay covered in pines offer calm, protected water, and the opportunity for excellent swimming and snorkelling. Gocek is a major yachting centre, with 5 marinas, plus bay anchorages at your disposal (the shelter is good in the north western corner). The port of Gocek is managed by Camper and Nicholson.

There are several Marinas in Gocek, with many aimed at the mega-yacht market:

The Göcek Belediye (town authorities) operate their own marina. There is space for around 150 yachts on two concrete jetties that extend from the waterfront towards the eastern end of the village. All facilities and fuel are on the quay.

Göcek Village Port

Marinturk is a full service marina located in Bungas bay, around 5 minutes from Gocek town centre. The marina provides launching and lifting services, a dry storage area, and wide variety of maintenance services, Wi-Fi, laundry, ATM. There are moorings for private yacht owners and charter companies.

Skopia Marina

With capacity for 80 large vessels up to 110 metres in length, Skopia is home to super-yachts, and is centrally located in Gocek, offering very easy access to shops, restaurants, and other facilities. Within the marina there is a pool bar and restaurant and free WIFI access. The marina can accommodate up to 80 vessels on its single concrete jetty, but does not have any boatyard facilities.

Göcek Exclusive Marina

Located in the secluded bay of Poruklu, around 10 minutes from the centre of Gocek, this marina offers mooring places for vessels from 18 metres up to mega-yachts. The bay is the most protected in the area, and offers additional facilities such as covered "floating verandas" and café bistro facilities on pontoons.

Dining and Nightlife

There are many restaurants, cafes and bars along the coast and in the bazaar in Göcek. Almost all of these places offer examples of international cuisine. Fish and seafood are generally preferred in restaurants. The most preferred fish for those who come to Göcek are Lagos, Sea Bass, Bream, Fangri, Sinarit and Barbun fish. In addition to the rich variety of mezzes, organic appetizers from the region-specific plants and vegetables are made. Of course there are also kebab restaurants and traditional home cooking style restaurants in the area. There are many alternatives, from bars to cafes where you can spend leisurely hours. Some of the most popular eateries in Göcek are; Caesar Et Lounge, Lotis Kitchen and West Cafe & Bistro.

Gocek has plenty to offer at night though no night club as such. Late licences mean that every bar stays open until the early hours, some playing music and others quiet. Loud music is not allowed to continue late into the night so as not to disturb others, locals, holidaymakers and those sleeping on their boats. Lime Beach club and Adivar bar are two of the favourite night time spots in Göcek.

Getting Around

Göcek is well suited for walking with the distance from one end to the other not exceeding a 30 minutes walk. The Gocek Dolmus travels to Fethiye via the town of Inlice which is parallel to the dual carriage way. The journey takes 30 mins average and prices are very economical.
