Kalkan has been welcoming guests to it's picturesque location since the latter end of the 1980's, at which time it was a simplistic fishing town with just a few bed and breakfast style pansions and a couple of local restaurants. Due to it's exquisite beauty and crystal clear waters it has grown in popularity and become perhaps the most luxury holiday resort in Turkey. In spite of it's growing popularity this historic town is quietly sophisticated, hosting a multitude of excellent roof-top restaurants offering all manner of culinary delights, together with a good selection of of stylish and atmospheric blues and jazz bars and a variety of private beach clubs offering service day and night.

The village shops stay open until around midnight and are well stocked with interesting antiques, crafts, jewellery, carpets and clothing. The narrow streets of the old town are lined with whitewashed shuttered buildings festooned with brightly coloured bouganvillea intermingled with shops and terrace-topped restaurants. These streets twist down to the harbour, which is the focus of the village and here you can enjoy a meal whilst watching the world go by.

Not far from the Roman theatre is the Fethiye Museum which contains many exhibits from the ancient settlements of Telmessos, Kaunos and Tlos.

Ölüdeniz is located on the South-Western coast of Turkey at the foot of the Taurus Mountains. The ruined town of Kayaköy sits on a steep valley slope between the seaside town of Fethiye and the stunning resort town of Ölüdeniz. Once known as Levissi to the Greek settlers and as Kayaköy to the Turks, the town was built and occupied by Greeks until the population exchange was made in 1923 when most of the town's population was deported. Greek Macedonian Muslims took their place but the quaint town was not to the liking of the new inhabitants who chose to build their own homes on the flat fertile soil of the valley and the once-prosperous town quickly fell to ruin. Kayaköy is now appropriately known as The Ghost Town as the entire village is a standing museum.  Around 500 houses remain as ruins and are under the protection of the Turkish government, including two Greek Orthodox Churches, which remain the most important sites of the ghost town. There is a private museum on the history of the town and in the middle of the village stands a fountain that dates from the seventeenth century.

Today you can walk through the cobbles stone streets which stretch across the width of the valley framed by thick forest. Wander through abandoned houses, schools and churches. Many of the old stone walls are crumbling and some places are heavily overgrown. The Ghost Town is particularly enchanting at sunset when the trees cast long shadows over the derelict buildings.

Below the ruins are the modern Kayakoy, a small village which offers visitors a handful of traditional restaurants, souvenir shops, camel rides and accommodation for holiday makers.

Ortaca is the name of a town and district in Mugla province, its name meaning "the town in the middle." It comprises the holiday resort towns of Dalyan and Sarigerme, both within easy driving distance of Dalaman Airport, unlike Marmaris and Fethiye (which are both at least a 1 hour drive away). As of 2 March 2020, British Citizens travelling to Turkey for tourist or business purposes are able to travel without a visa for visits of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. This rule is also effective for the following countries; Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Republic of Ireland, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal and Spain.  

An identity card is accepted in lieu of a passport for citizens of Belgium, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Liechtnstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Northern Cyprus, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Ukraine. 

From January 1st 2016, you will also need to make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Turkey.

Residents from other countries will need to check their individual Visa requirements.

Yes, we can usually put your dates on hold for 24 hours to enable you to book your flights and liaise with the other member of your party.  

Usually, changeover days are Saturday, Sunday and Monday. However, we try to be as flexible wherever possible (depending on the property and time of year). Please ask us if your dates fall outside of these days and we will do our best to accommodate you.
